William Rolfe Duke, 88, of Savannah, GA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 29, 2020, at St. Luke’s University Hospital, Fountain Hill. He was the loving husband of 60 years to the late Carol (Gleason) Duke, who passed in 2015.
Born in Elizabeth, NJ, he was the son of the late Leslie and Dorothy (Heimmel) Duke. William earned his BS in Mechanical Engineering from Lehigh University, and then worked for many years as a purchaser of coal for Public Service Electric and Gas in New Jersey. He later founded Duke Engineering and Sales.
Bill was an avid golfer and photographer. He enjoyed entertaining, bird watching and feeding “his ducks” in the lagoon behind his house.
Survivors: He is survived by his children, Jerri Duke and her husband Robert Craig of Easton, PA, William L. Duke of Orrtanna, PA, and Nancy Duke of Westfield, NJ; grandchildren Nicholas, Alexandra and Elisabeth Duke.
Services: Funeral Services are private, and entrusted to the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, Bethlehem. A Memorial Service will be held at a future date in Savannah. A memory tribute may be placed at www.cantelmifuneralhome.com
