Vincent W. Skibiel

Vincent William Skibiel, 66, of Salisbury Twp., passed away Monday, April 26, 2021 at Hershey Medical Center. He was married May 20, 1979 to Debra L. (Sonon) Skibiel with whom he shared 42 years of loving marriage. Born on December 1, 1954 in Pottsville, he was a son of Francis J. Skibiel and the late Gertrude (Bottiglier) Skibiel.

Vincent graduated from Schuylkill Haven High School and Pennsylvania State University with an Associate’s degree in engineering. He worked as an electronic engineer for AT&T and Lucent Technologies for many years. Vincent honorably served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the American Legion post 379 of Bethlehem where he volunteered with the honor guard. Vincent was known for tinkering around, being Mr. Fix-It, telling dad jokes, and metal detecting. He had a penchant for steam locomotives and collecting and setting upmodel trains. He was a proud Eagle Scout and enjoyed camping and bird watching. Vincent and his wife shared a love of old carsand they enjoyed frequenting car shows together. Above all,Vincent was a devoted “Pappy” and cherished the time spent with his family.

Survivors: Vincent will be lovingly remembered by his wife Debra; father, Francis; son, Allan Skibiel and wife Nicole of Allentown; daughters, Amy Skibiel and husband Chris Hamilton of Moscow, ID and Aleen Williams and husband Sean of Zionsville; grandchildren, Aaron, Kaylee, Kyra, David Jr., Joshua, Madison, Coy, Carter, Jackson and Delaney; brother, Francis J. Skibiel Jr. and wife Patti of McDonald; sister, Holly Lewis and husband Douglas of Pottsville. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brother, Gregory Skibiel.

Services: A memorial service with full military honors will be held on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at 12:00 PM at Cantelmi Funeral Home, 1311 Broadway, Fountain Hill, PA where relatives and friends can call from 11:00 AM until the time of service A memory tribute may be placed at www.cantelmifuneralhome.com.
