Theodore Campbell Obituary

Theodore “Ted” C. Campbell, 93, of Bethlehem passed away on March 6, 2024 surrounded by his loving family at home. Born to very humble beginnings in Haycock Twp. on June 18th, 1930, he was the son of the late Theodore and Eva (Weil) Campbell.

Theodore graduated as valedictorian of his high school before going on to serve his country honorably in the US Navy during the Korean War. His service aboard the USS Missouri, the USS Robinson 562 and the USS New 818 afforded him experiences he held in high regard throughout his life.

After serving in the military, Theodore dedicated over 40 years to Bethlehem Steel working his way to General Foreman of the Drop Forge department.

Theodore was predeceased by his beloved wife of 70 years, Joanne O. Campbell. His legacy is carried on through his daughters, Elizabeth A. Bedics and Christine M. Campbell; his dear sister, Mildred Lambrecht; adored grandchildren, Christina Bedics, Joseph Bedics and his wife Shelby; and his great-grandchildren, Addison Eck, Joel Eck Jr., and Amara Bedics.

He was a member of Light of Christ Lutheran Church, and the Steel Club. His passions were many and varied: an avid golfer, consummate bowler, and a meticulous craftsman. Ted navigated the greens as skillfully as he built and repaired anything that came under his hands. He even crafted his family's first home with his own two hands.

An ardent outdoorsman, Theodore took pleasure in rifle and bow hunting, and found tranquility in gardening alongside his wife. A man of remarkable and deep integrity, his sweet nature was never more evident than in the tender care he provided to his late wife during her lengthy illness. Prior to this, their retiring years allowed them  many seasons in the Florida sun as snowbirds as well as wonderful trips in the US and abroad. They
had a ton of fun and they enjoyed laughing together a lot.

A man of memories, Ted's 1940's 16mm movie camera was a constant companion, capturing the essence of life's moments, big and small. They are cherished records of a life well-lived, a storyboard of legacy illustrating a man who captured the hearts of many. He was also a compelling storyteller with an incredible memory of the most fascinating stories of times gone by.
