Susan J. (Hudak) O’Brien, 71, of Bethlehem Twp., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 in her home, surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of James C. O’Brien, with whom she shared 50 years of marriage. Born in Detroit, MI, she was the daughter of Mary (Senar) Hudak and the late Leonard J. Hudak. Susan was a graduate of Notre Dame High School and East Stroudsburg University where she earned her Bachelors of Science degree and also was a graduate of Northampton Community College earning her degree as an LPN. She worked as a teacher, Business Owner and Nurse for most of her life until retiring. Susan was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Bethlehem Township. Above all, Susan’s family and friends were her whole world.
Survivors: In addition to her husband James, she will be fondly remembered by her son James B. O’Brien and his wife Amanda of Bethlehem; daughter (and best friend) Corrie Mariello and her husband Christopher of Doylestown; siblings Barbara DeFranco and her husband Joseph of Rosetto, Kenneth Hudak and his wife Kristin of Millsboro, DE, Michael Hudak and his wife Kathy of Bethlehem and Doreen Baranowski and her husband Fred of Bethlehem; a tight knit community of nieces, nephews and close friends and her absolutely beloved grandchildren Maddie and Brady O'Brien & Braydon and Luca Mariello.
Services: A Non-formal Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, August 9th at the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden street, Bethlehem, PA 18018 where the family will receive relatives and friends from 12pm-2pm. Susan shone with vibrancy and her wishes were for you to "come as you are comfortable," in bright colors to honor her vibrancy.
