Sherwood A. Werner

Sherwood A. Werner, 84, of Nazareth passed away Saturday, March 25, 2023 in St. Luke’s Hospital, Allentown.  He was the husband of Karen (Lahr) Werner with whom he celebrated 52 years of marriage on December 16, 2022.  Born in Nazareth, he was the son of the late Walter and Eva (Kresge) Werner.  After attending Nazareth High School, Sherwood enlisted in the United States Marine Corps serving a tour of duty from 1955 to 1959.  A member of the Bricklayers’ Union, Sherwood was employed at Gremar in Nazareth, Concrete Deck Systems and the former Kraemer Textiles before retiring.  After retirement he was employed part time in the paint department at Walmart, Easton.  Sherwood was a member of Edgeboro Moravian Church, Bethlehem where he was an attendant with his wife in the church nursery for close to 15 years.  An avid hunter and fisherman, he was a member of East Bath Rod and Gun Club and enjoyed camping at Tobyhanna State Park.

Survivors: Wife; children, Kimberly A. McKay of Danielsville, Trudy L. Hoffner and her husband Todd of Bath, Cheryl L. Kindt of Nazareth, Darryl L. Bacon and his wife Ronda of Nazareth, Gaye A. Eldridge and her husband Jerry of Nazareth, Hope L. Harrell and her husband Tim of Nazareth; brothers, Edward Werner of Belfast, Ernest Werner and his wife Lucille of Bath; sister-in-law, Evelyn Werner of Wind Gap; 14 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by three brothers, Walter Jr. “Sonny”, Marlyn, Kenneth; a sister, Joanne and  a granddaughter.

Service: Graveside Service 10:30AM Thursday, March 30, 2023 at Bethlehem Memorial Park.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:30AM Thursday, March 30, 2023 at Edgeboro Moravian Church, 645 Hamilton Ave., Bethlehem, PA 18017.

Immediately following the Celebration of Life Service everyone is invited to attend a luncheon at the church.  Arrangements are being handled by the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, Bethlehem.
