Ronald “Ron” F. Maura, 89, of Bethlehem, passed away on March 14, 2024 surrounded by his family. Born on March 9, 1935 in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Josephine (Ashman) Maura. He was the beloved husband of Catherine (Paules) Maura sharing over 65 years of loving marriage. He was a proud graduate of Bethlehem High School.
Ronald honorably served his nation as a member of the US Army. He dedicated over 40 years to the former Mack Printing Co. of Easton. There, he mastered his craft, starting as a platemaker in the offset plate department and later advancing to stripper within the company. Even in retirement, he remained active in the community, working part-time at Riverview Country Club for 16 years.
Ronald was a member of St. Anne’s Church, Bethlehem, the Wanderers, and the Heights Athletic Association. He devoted over half a century to the game of golf, both as a formidable player and an avid fan. Ronald was a car fanatic and sports enthusiast being an avid Giants and Yankees fan. Traveling to the beach with his wife was a favorite pastime, but nothing compared to the joy he found with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Ronald is survived by his loving wife Catherine, his daughter Carol and her husband Scott Davis, his son Craig Maura, and his adoring grandchildren Lisa, Caroline, Emily, Elizabeth, and Jeffrey. He was predeceased by his sister, Colleen Salvadge.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden St. Bethlehem, PA 18018 where the family will receive relatives and friends from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
