Rev. Edward R. Lazarchak, 79, of Teaneck, NJ formerly of Bethlehem, passed away Monday, October 4, 2021. He was the widower of Susan Lazarchak and beloved husband of Donna Nina with whom he shared over 7 years of loving marriage. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Charles and Anna (Pekar) Lazorchak.
Edward graduated from Moravian College with a bachelors and a received his Master of Divinity from Mt. Airy Lutheran Seminary. Ordained in June of 1979 he became an intern at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Allentown. He then went on to serving his own churches; Zion United Lutheran Church, Brodheadsville, St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Schuylkill Haven, Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, Freemansburg and Zion Evangelical Lutheran church, Maywood, NJ. until he retired. Edward honorably served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps for 12 years during Vietnam serving in the Cuban Blockade and Gitmo. He was a member of a VFW in NJ. Edward was a Civil War history buff and enjoyed working on his drawings and paintings.
Survivors: Edward will be lovingly remembered by his wife Donna; sons, Charles A. Lazarchak and wife Jan of Walnutport and Adam S. Lazarchak and wife Linnea of Nazareth; grandchildren, Briana, Meghan, and Sarah. He was predeceased by sister, Jean Ann Harvey.
Services: A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Star of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 514 Third Avenue Bethlehem, PA 18018 where relatives and friends can call from 10:00 AM until the time of service. The church is kindly requesting that everyone in attendance to please wear a facial covering. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, Bethlehem.
