Paul Shup, Jr.

Paul Shup, Jr. 71, of Bethlehem, passed away on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving husband of Verletta (Neith) Shup, with whom he shared over 50 years of marriage. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Paul and Jeanette (Billiard) Shup. Paul was a graduate of Southern Lehigh High School, class of 1967. He honorably served his country in the United States Army. Paul worked for Sigley Sanitation, Strohl Sanitation, A.J. Oster, Piercing Pagoda and most recently at Kirkland Village. He was an avid bowler. Paul served as Secretary and Treasurer for both the Bethlehem Area Bowling Assoc. and Bethlehem Area USBC Bowling Assoc. He became a lifetime board member once stepping down and was inducted into the Hall of Fame for meritorious service in 2003.

Survivors: In addition to his loving wife Verletta, he will be lovingly remembered by his daughters Marian Shup of Nazareth and Antoinette Rankin and husband Anthony of Portage, ME; sister Elaine Vermeulen and her husband Louis of Northampton; brother Roger Lee Shup and wife Karen of Bethlehem as well as many loving nieces and nephews. Paul was preceded in death by Marian’s companion, Anthony “Tony” Smith. 

Services: A Funeral Service will be held at 7 P.M. on Monday, May 10, 2021 at the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden Street, Bethlehem, PA 18018 where the family will receive relatives and friends from 5 P.M. until time of the service.
