Paul Nelson

Paul Nelson, 73, of Bethlehem, PA passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2021 while in the care of Bethlehem Manor. Born on July 4, 1947 in Staten Island, NY, he was the son of the late Norman and Gere Nelson. 

Paul had many joys in life including gardening, learning new languages (fluent in Spanish, proficient in Russian, and, most recently, he was attempting to teach himself Arabic), listening to music (with favorites ranging from Maria Callas to Dave Van Ronk), and reading.  When at home, Paul could always be found with a book in his hand and a cat on his lap, when not gardening or watching women’s basketball (go Huskies).  Paul was also a proud (and less than anonymous) member of Alcoholics Anonymous, and created a website to help others find and attend meetings, even when he was no longer going.

Paul will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Amanda, and son-in-law Paul Adamo and granddaughter, McKenzie, as well as by his surviving siblings, Scott, Lois and Claire. 

Services: Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Paul’s arrangements have been entrusted to the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, Bethlehem. A memory tribute may be placed at www.cantelmifuneralhome.com.
