Orlo R. Hulock

Orlo Richard Hulock, 94, of N. Aurora, IL and formerly of Bethlehem, PA passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 16, 2023 in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the widower of Catherine A. (Houser) Hulock.  Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Peter P. and Susan (Vasas) Hulock.

Orlo was a graduate of Liberty High School and American Institute of Banking. Orlo proudly served his county as a Staff Sargent in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked for First Valley Bank as an Assistant Vice President and Branch Manager for over 37 years until he retired in 1984. Orlo served as a past president of the Bethlehem Exchange Club and as a past treasurer of the Bethlehem Sertoma Club.

He was a member of Holy Cross Evangelical Lutheran Church, Bethlehem serving on various committees and volunteering in the kitchen. Orlo’s interest in crafts lead him to work with his wife Catherine, in stained glass for over twenty years. Orlo and Catherine observed their 60th wedding anniversary June 26th 2014, shortly after moving to North Aurora, IL to be with their son, Richard and his wife Maria.

Survivors: Orlo will be lovingly remembered by his son Richard P. Hulock and his wife Maria G. of North Aurora, IL, Granddaughters Morgan of Aurora, IL, Meghan McMurtrie of Lexington Park, MD, Sydney McMurtrie of Carol Stream, IL, Great Grandsons Malaki and Lincoln Wilson of Carol Stream, IL and nieces and nephews.

Orlo is proceeded in death by his loving wife Catherine A. (Houser) Hulock and sister, Ruth M. Sharper.

Services: A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden St. Bethlehem, PA 18018 where the family will receive relatives and friends from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Memorial Park. A memory tribute may be placed at www.cantelmifuneralhome.com.
