Melanie (Ruth) Gaal

Melanie Gaal, 70, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 30, 2022 while in the care of Holy Family Manor. She was the loving wife of Gregory J. Gaal, with whom she shared over 40 years of loving marriage. Born in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Marion (Gottschall) Ruth. Melanie was a graduate of Northampton Community College, where she earned her degree in Nursing. She worked as an RN for most of her life for St. Luke’s VNA and Heartland Home care. She was a former member of Edgeboro Moravian Church. Melanie enjoyed working in her yard, snowmobiling in her younger years, animals, whale watching and going to flea markets. 

Survivors: In addition to her loving husband Greg, she will be remembered by her daughter Heather Baker of Bethlehem; son Jason Breidinger and his fiancé Casi Ptack of Orlando, FL; sister Carol Gernert and her husband Claude of North Carolina and her loving grandchildren Emily and Rachel Levering and Justin and Morgan Breidinger. 

Services:  A Memorial Service will be held at 1 P.M. on Thursday, July 7, 2022 at the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden Street, Bethlehem, PA 18018 where the family will receive relatives and friends from 12 Noon until time of the service.
