Marvyn Raphaelson Obituary

 

Marvyn Irvin Raphaelson passed away peacefully Sunday, December 26th at his home in Bethlehem Pa.  at the age of 88.  A native of Wilmington, De. The son of the late Alice (Kitay) and Lewis Raphaelson.  He graduated from Pierce DuPont HS in 1953.  Marvyn served in the U.S. Army from 1954-1956. He was and officer of B’nai B’rith, JCC in Wilmington, De, Trustee of Lake Harmony Fire Company, Treasurer of Lake Harmony Watershed Preservation Group (L.H.W.P.G.) and Host on Virtuoso Cruises.  He was Owner/President of American Scrap and Waste Removal Co., Wilmington, De.  

 

Loved by all, Marvyn was a great father and husband.  He enjoyed traveling, boating, skiing, biking and hiking. 

 

In addition to his wife Virginia of 31 years; Marvyn is survived by son Mark Raphaelson and his wife Joanne of Park City, UT, daughter Hope Collins and husband Phil of Greensboro, NC and son Craig Raphaelson and wife Katherine of Laconia NH; stepchildren, Deborah Ruth and husband William of Ottsville, PA, Deanna Matczak and significant other Marc Anderson of Ottsville, PA, and Annette Tymoski and husband Geroge of Easton, PA; grandchildren, Joshua, Jennifer, Parker, Morgan, Ethan, Max and Zachary.  Nephew, Warren Coopersmith and wife Kate of Longboat Key, FL; niece, Debora Levenson and husband Donald of Blue Bell, PA. He was predeceased by brother Benard Raphaelson, sisters Lois Weisman and Evelyn Coopersmith. 

 

Services: The Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.  A Memory Tribute may be placed at www.cantelmifureralhome.com. 

 

Contributions: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Marvyn’s memory to Alzheimer’s Association, St. Jude or to the Lake Harmony Watershed Preservation Group (L.H.W.P.G.).
