Marlene E. Berry, 80, of Bethlehem and formerly of Kinston, NC, passed away peacefully on Saturday July 25, 2020 at home, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Edward Berry and Carolyn Berry Oliver. Marlene moved with her sister Edwina to Bethlehem in 2016 with her nephew William Gorman and his wife Kimi, who opened their home and hearts and helped care for her over the past few years. She was a member of Neuse Baptist Church in Kinston. Marlene enjoyed listening to audiobooks and crocheting.
Marlene’s family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Compassus hospice for the care they provided to their family.
Survivors: She will be lovingly remembered by her siblings Edwina Miles with whom she resided, Carthell Wood, Harry Oliver, Deborah Wright, Robin McGowan, Darryl Oliver, Lenny Oliver, Marvin Oliver, Angela Collins and Evelyn King; nephew William Gorman and his wife Kimi, her favorite nephew Ernest Gorman as well as many other loving nieces and nephews.
