Mafalda Villani Obituary

Mafalda Villani, 99, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, January 16, 2022.  She was predeceased by her loving husband, Angelo Michael Villani, on October 8, 2006. Born in Cervinara, Italy, she was the daughter of Domenico and Giovanna (Lombardi) Brevetti. One of 3 children, Mafalda came to America in 1958 at the age of 35.  She was the grand matriarch of the family. She led a humble, quiet life and worked with her hands sewing, gardening, cooking, baking, creating. She was a magnificent mother. Her 5 children adored her and cherished her, eating lunch together with her every day and taking turns caring for her every night after her husband passed away. She fed crews of men, visitors, and all the cats in the neighborhood that lived in her garage. Strong. Passionate. Subtle. Heard. Humble. Classy. Selfless. She made a difference in the lives of many while never putting herself first.  Mafalda was a member of the former Our Lady of Pompeii Church and a current member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church.

Survivors: She will be sadly missed by her family, sons, Vito and his wife, Bianca, Domenic and his wife, Lisa, Armando and his wife, Elizabeth, daughters, Joanna Tallarico and her husband, John, Angie Brong and her husband, Dave, all of Bethlehem; 19 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren; Nieces and Nephews.

Services: At her wishes and in consideration of the pandemic, services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Her arrangements have been entrusted to Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, Bethlehem. A memory tribute may be made at www.cantelmifuneralhome.

Contributions: May be made to Holy Ghost Church, 417 Carlton Ave., Bethlehem PA 18015
