Lawrence 'Larry' Kisslinger Obituary

Lawrence ‘Larry' Kisslinger, 77, of Bethlehem passed away peacefully on Wednesday November 17, 2021 at St. Lukes Hospital, Fountain Hill. He was the devoted husband of Beverly (Dietz) Kisslinger with whom he shared over 56 Years of marriage. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late John Kisslinger and Olga (Palumbo) Morga. Larry graduated from Liberty High School and furthered his education with courses at Northampton County Community College, Penn State University (Allentown Campus) and Bethlehem Area Evening School. 

 


Larry has produced and hosted his own talk shows on local cable TV and local radio. Larry retired as Public Affairs Manager for Service Electric Cable T.V. & Communications. Larry was a long time board member, active with the Broadband Cable Association of Pennsylvania (BCAP). In 1973 the Jaycees honored Larry with the Distinguished Service Award for the Outstanding Young Man of the Year in the Bethlehem Area. His other community activities have included American National Red Cross, Bethlehem Recreation Commission, Bethlehem Saints Knee-Hi Football, Bethlehem YMCA, Lehigh County Big Brothers which included being a Big Brother, also served on the board of NEW Big Brothers/Big Sisters of the Lehigh Valley, Northampton County Prison Society, Better Business Bureau, Mayors Task Force in Bethlehem, Bethlehem Boys Club, Bethlehem Halloween Parade, Bethlehem Jaycees, March of Dimes, Rotary Club of Bethlehem, Family Answers, Special Olympics of PA, KidsPeace, and he is a Past President of First Night Bethlehem and the Greater Bethlehem Area Council of Churches. 

 


Larry served as a Bethlehem City Councilman for two terms from 1974-82. Larry was Northampton County Republican Party Chairman from 1986-88. Also, he was a Bethlehem Area School District Director from 1989-93 and was President of the nine member board during his last year. Larry served as an appointed Election Commissioner for Northampton County from 1999-2003 when he asked not to be re-appointed. Larry was an appointed Bethlehem Housing Authority Commissioner from 1999 - 2007. 

 

 

Survivors: In addition to his loving wife Beverly, he will be remembered by his daughters Christine Kunkle and her husband Richard of Lehigh Twp. and  Tiffany Kisslinger and her companion Dennis Hartnett of Bethlehem; his brothers Jack Kisslinger and his wife MaryBeth of Florida, Paul Kisslinger (Lisa), and sisters Janice Brown and Kathy LaBelle (Ed), his loving grandchildren Kayleigh Dillman and husband Bryan, Alyssa Kunkle, Kevin Kunkle and Mackenzie Rosko;  He was preceded in death by his son Kevin in 1971. 

 

 

Services: A Funeral Service will be held at 2 P.M. on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden Street Bethlehem, PA 18018 where the family will receive relatives and friends from 12 Noon until time of the service.
