Lawrence E. Rapp, 75, of Fountain Hill, passed away peacefully on Thursday December 20, 2018 at St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill. He was the loving husband of Helen (Velekei) Rapp with whom he shared 45 years of loving marriage. Born in Fountain Hill, he was the son of the late Anthony and Elizabeth (Mahl) Rapp. Larry honorably served his country with the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He worked for the Bethlehem Steel as a supervisor for many years until retiring. Larry was a long time Councilman with the Borough of Fountain Hill, and was a past Council President. He also volunteered for many years for Fountain Hill Little League and Connie Mack. He was recently honored when Dodson Street Ball Field was renamed to the "Larry Rapp Memorial Park". Most of all, Larry loved spending time with his family and his grandsons.
SURVIVORS: In addition to his loving wife Helen, he will be remembered by his sons Michael of Sellersville, and Stephen and his wife Martha of Whitehall; daughter-in-law Megan Rapp of Perkasie; grandsons Jonathan, Alex and Ryan; sisters Arlene Renninger of Fountain Hill and JoAnne Paulik of Salisbury Twp. and many loving nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his brother Anthony G. Rapp, Jr.
SERVICES: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 A.M., on Saturday, December 29, 2018 in St. Ursula's Catholic Church, 1300 Broadway, Fountain Hill. Calling hours will be on Friday evening from 6 P.M. - 8 P.M. and again on Saturday morning from 8:30 A.M. - 9:30 A.M. before the Mass, all in the Cantelmi Funeral Home, 1311 Broadway Fountain Hill. Interment with military honors will be at Holy Ghost Cemetery, Bethlehem. A memory tribute may be placed at www.cantelmifuneralhome.com.
