Larry Smale Obituary

Larry Smale, a cherished husband, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully at St. Luke's Hospital in Bethlehem on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at the age of 71. Born in Fountain Hill, Larry's journey through life was marked by devotion, hard work, and a love for the simple pleasures.

Larry graduated from Liberty High School in the class of 1970. After graduation, he dedicated 32 years of service to the Saucon Valley Country Club, where his commitment and work ethic were as steadfast as his loyalty to his colleagues and the club's members.

His marriage to Romel (Eroh) Smale was a testament to true partnership and love. For 21 years, they built a life together filled with mutual respect, support, and an abundance of shared moments that now form a tapestry of beautiful memories for Romel.

Larry was the brother of Sandra Danner and her husband, Dennis, of Bethlehem. His role as an uncle was one, he cherished deeply, always ready with a story or a laugh for his many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his late brother, Leroy F. Smale, Jr., and his parents, Leroy F. Smale, Sr. and Dorothy (King) Smale.

An avid New York Yankees fan, Larry's enthusiasm for baseball was infectious. He could often be found debating plays and stats, his eyes alight with the joy of the game. His passion for the Yankees was more than a hobby; it was a thread that connected him to a community of fellow fans and a source of countless hours of excitement and camaraderie.

Larry's journey on this earth has come to a close, but the memories he created will continue to inspire and guide those he left behind. He was a man of character, a beacon of support, and a true friend.
