Justin M. Ecklin, 30, of Palmerton, PA passed away suddenly and peacefully on Tuesday April 20, 2021 in his home. Born in Walnut Creek, CA, he was the son of Kurt M. and Kim I. (Turner) Ecklin. Before moving to Pennsylvania to be with his parents, Justin worked in the wine industry at Grgich Hills Cellars and Laird Family Estates in Napa Valley. He worked in a variety of roles, including cellar operations, the crush room, tasting room, and as well as in the vineyard.
He loved playing and watching sports. He played football and soccer, and earned a 1st degree black belt in Shaolin Kempo karate. He was born into the family tradition of supporting University of California Golden Bear football as his grandfather was associated with the program for 50 years. He also was an avid supporter of the San Francisco Giants. Finally, he had a great love of all animals and was nicknamed “The Bird Whisperer”.
Survivors: In addition to his loving parents Kurt and Kim; sisters Brianna Ecklin of Tracy, CA and Amanda Ecklin of Seattle, WA, his favorite cousin Kylie Turner of Walnut Creek, CA, and Grandmothers Joan Turner of Walnut Creek, CA and Helen Ecklin of Redding, CA. He is also survived by 8 aunts and uncles and many cousins throughout the country.
Services: A local memorial service will be held at 2 P.M. Sunday April 25, 2021 at the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden Street, Bethlehem, PA 18018 where the family will receive relatives and friends from 1 P.M. until time of the service. The Memorial Service will be live streamed and may be viewed on Justin’s obituary page. A memory tribute may be placed at www.cantelmifuneralhome.com.
In addition, a celebration of life will occur in Northern California in Summer 2021.
