Jonathan Cofre Obituary
Jonathan Cofre, Sr., 90, of Allentown, passed away peacefully on Sunday December 9, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Delia Consuelo Cofre and the late Otilia (Aranda) Barrientos. Born in San Fernando, Chile, he was the son of the late Manuel Cofre Quintana and Cecilia Canales Rojas. Jonathan honorably served his country in the Chilean Navy for 25 years. In 1968, Jonathan came to the United States and began working for the Chain Bike Corporation as a Welder for 25 years until retiring at age 87. He was a member of Central Assembly of God Church was a hard worker and avid hunter who loved the outdoors. He loved to dance and tell jokes. Jonathan was born into Ministry, as his father was a minister in Chile, He was a Minister at Assembly of God, Chile and most recently at House of Restoration, where he finished his ministry with Pastor Pimental and he was ready to go home with Jesus. Jonathan's family would like to extend their gratitude to the Aide's Nancy, Andra and Danielle and the staff at Bayada.
Survivors: In addition to his loving wife, he will be lovingly remembered by his sons Jonathan H. Cofre and his fiance Cristina Romero of Allentown, Ricardo J. Cofre and his wife Margarita of Allentown; daughter Raquel J. Cofre of Allentown; grandchildren Jocelyn D. Cofre, Juan S. Jorquera, Veronica M. Cofre, Steven R. Cofre and Jonathan C. Cofre; 7 great-grandchildren and many loving nieces. nephews and cousins. Jonathan was preceded in death by his daughter Ruth O. Cofre.
Services: A Funeral Service will be held at 6 P.M. on Friday, December 14, 2018 at the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden Street, Bethlehem, PA 18018 where the family will receive relatives and friends from 4 P.M. until time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be private. A memory tribute may be placed at www.cantlemifuneralhome.com.
