John Singleton, Jr.

John Wesley Singleton, Jr., 85, of Frederick, MD, son of John W. Singleton, Sr., and Ocie Mullens-Singleton, passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at Frederick Health and Rehab Center, beloved in the company of his wife, Sylvia Jane Singleton.

John graduated with a BS in Electrical Engineering from West Virginia University.  He also earned a Master of Science degree from San Jose State College, CA, and an MBA from George Washington University in D.C.  

He spent time as an engineer at Lockheed in California and then Martin-Marietta in Maryland.    He then delved into lobbying on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., and also sales for various companies. But his true passion was in farming. He started a farm in Calvin, West Virginia, where he spent many wonderful but hard years working with Nature. 

Survivors:  In addition to his wife: son, John W. Singleton, III, and sisters, Toby Singleton and Jean (Singleton) Hornor. 

Services:  Burial will be private.   Arrangements entrusted to the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, Bethlehem, PA.  A memory tribute may be placed at www.cantelmifuneralhome.com
