Joan M. Liles

Joan M. Liles, 88, formerly of GA died Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Holy Family Manor, Bethlehem.  She was the wife of Jerry H. Liles who died January 24, 1988.  Born in Pottsville, she was the daughter of the late Trevor and Frances (McCarthy) Evans.  Joan was a graduate of St. Hubert Catholic High School for Girls, Philadelphia.  Her career began as a sales clerk at Josh Early Candies, Allentown.  Later on she became financial secretary at Allentown Central Catholic High School.  After moving to NC, she served as parish secretary at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Asheboro, NC.  She was a member of the Secular Institute of St. Francis DeSales and volunteered for So Others Might Eat, Washington, DC and Meals on Wheels Atlanta serving Roswell, GA.  Joan was a founding member of St. Peter Chanel Catholic Church, Roswell, GA where she established the Eucharistic Adoration.

Survivors: Daughters, Judith Zarzeka of Bethlehem, Janet wife of William Schwab of Nazareth, Jill wife of Michael Baker of Canton, GA, Julie Liles of Charlotte, NC; 10 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren.  

Service: The Funeral Mass will be private.  There are no calling hours.  Arrangements are being handled by the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, Bethlehem.  Please record a memory at www.cantelmifuneralhome.com.
