James W. Davis, 88, of Allentown, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 19, 2021 in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving husband of the late Naomi Mae (Lechleitner) Davis. James was born in Pittsburg on September 3, 1933. He honorably served his country in the United States Army and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. James was employed by Bell Telephone of Pennsylvania for most of his life until retiring. He was a former member of St. Marks Lutheran Church and a current member of Grace United Church of Christ, Allentown. James was a champion chess player, an avid Pittsburg sports fan and enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors: He will be lovingly remembered by his sons, James “Jim” H. Davis and Paul D. Davis and late wife Leslie Joy; daughters, Melanie Lee Keller and husband Walter and Connie Ann Yost and husband Scott; grandchildren, Daniel Davis, Elena Davis, Dylan Davis, Margie Roginski, Krista Raudenbush, Charles Young and wife Tara, Jason Yost and Nicholas Yost; great-grandchildren, Tyler Roginski, Courtney DeStito, Gavin Young, Samantha Young, Sophia Young and Easton Davis. James was preceded in death by his great-grandson, Eric DeStito and his 12 siblings.
Services: Burial services will be private and at the convenience of the family. James's arrangements have been entrusted to the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, Bethlehem. A memory tribute may be placed at www.cantelmifuneralhome.com.
