George Scoggin Obituary

George C. Scoggin, 74, of Bethlehem PA and Stuart, FL, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 while in the care of St. Luke's Hospice at Abington Manor in Easton. He was the husband of the Dorothy M. (Conklin) Scoggin, with whom he shared over 13 years of marriage. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late George and Frieda (Cox) Scoggin. George honorably served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was an entrepreneur and businessman, who owned several service stations, real estate and other successful businesses.

George was a serious Deep Sea Fisherman who absolutely loved the sport! His favorite and most recent boat was named "Fantasea" and it was always his dream to own a boat that beautiful. He participated in and won various fishing tournaments in the US, Caribbean, and Central America.

George was an excellent bowler who once rolled a 298 during one of his league matches. He enjoyed golfing and was a member at Silver Creek Country Club in Hellertown and Mariner Sands Country Club in Stuart, FL. George also was a gun collector and enjoyed skeet shooting.

Survivors: He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Dorothy and Step Children, Suzy Welliver Kach and Michael Welliver and their families.

Services: Burial services will be on Friday 1/25/2019 at Cantelmi Long Funeral Home. The viewing will take place from 10:00am to 11:00am, Funeral from 11:00am to 12:00pm and burial at Nisky Hill Cemetery from 12:00pm to 12:30pm. George's arrangements are entrusted to the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden Street, Bethlehem. A memory tribute may be placed at www.cantelmifuneralhome.com.
