George Dvorscak Obituary

 

George J. Dvorscak, 90, of Whitehall, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2024. Born in Audenreid, PA on April 3, 1933, he was the cherished son of the late George S. and Margaret (Lesko) Dvorscak.

George is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, Irene B. (Sesack) Dvorscak, his son, John Dvorscak and his wife, Kathleen; his daughter, Julie Toms and her husband, Barton; his grandchildren, Amy and John Jr.; and his great-granddaughter, Emma; his sister, Cecilia Eisenhart. George was predeceased by two brothers and nine sisters.


George was a proud graduate of McAdoo High School where he played on several sports teams and was the captain of the basketball team. He continued his education at Penn State, Allentown. George built a distinguished career as a sales engineer at Westing House Electric, where he dedicated 30 years of exemplary service before retiring. After retiring he worked another 8 year at Brooks Co.

 

George was a respected former leader for the Boy Scouts and a dedicated former member of the Allentown Jaycees. He was also an astronomy and aviation enthusiast. George owned his own sailboat, indulging his passion for sailing. He enjoyed spending time on his son’s Christmas tree farm.

 

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, Bethlehem. A memory tribute may be placed at www.cantelmifuneralhome.com.
