Frank L. Herb, Jr., 94 of Fellowship Manor, Whitehall, passed away on November 27, 2021. Born in Lebanon, Pa. on June 22, 1927 to the late Frank and Margaret Herb. He was the second of twelve children. He grew up in Lebanon and attended the Lebanon schools. In May of 1945 he joined the Navy, serving on the aircraft carrier Princeton. He had an honorable discharge on July 25, 1946. On August of 1946 he began working at RCA in Lancaster and served as a sheet metal worker until August of 1950. During these years he became very active in the BFC Church in Lebanon where his ability as a teacher became evident. He began to feel the call of God to the Christian ministry. He then went to Berean Bible School to prepare for the ministry. At Berean he met Margaret Allen and after graduation he and Margaret were married on June 27, 1953.
They then moved to Paradise, Pa. where Frank was to serve as the founding Pastor of a Bible Fellowship Church. He and Margaret were ministering there for just about fourteen months, but that proved to be a good start for this mission Church. Over the next thirty-four- and one-half years Frank served as Pastor in Lancaster for four years; Harrisburg for 5 years; Bethlehem for fifteen and one half years; Coopersburg for five years; and Fleetwood for five years. Frank and Margaret had three children; Mark; the late Myrna and Frank. They also have six grandchildren; Sara Beth; Samuel; April; Adam; Aleks and Tasha.
In 1990 Frank retired from the pastoral ministry and he and Margaret moved into the Allentown and Bethlehem area because their children lived in that area. While there they were active at the Bethlehem BFC. Where Frank served as an Elder and Sunday School teacher, and also filled the pulpits in many BFC Churches who were without a pastor. Because Frank developed some physical problems, he and Margaret moved to Fellowship Terrace in Whitehall on May 27, 2006. There they were active in Fellowship Community Church where Frank served as an Elder; Teacher; and Part time Chaplain.
