Elaine Hope (Silfies) Crockett

Elaine Hope (Silfies) Crockett passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on April 9, 2024, at the age of 96. Born on October 18, 1927, in Bethlehem, she was the cherished daughter of the late Raymond and Ida (Keck) Silfies and the beloved wife of the late John C. Crockett.

She was a graduate of Liberty High School, where she formed lifelong friendships and a strong sense of community. Elaine's professional life included dedicated service at Hallmark.

A devoted member of Christ Church UCC Bethlehem, Elaine's faith was a cornerstone of her life. She found great joy in the fellowship of her church community and the peace it brought to her soul. Her commitment to her faith was evident in her actions and the gentle guidance she provided to her family and friends.

Elaine's interests reflected her love for the simple pleasures in life. She was an avid fan of jigsaw puzzles, finding solace in the quiet concentration they required. A glass of wine in hand, she would often recount stories of her day, her laughter filling the room and warming the hearts of those around her. Above all, Elaine's family was her world. She poured her love into every interaction, every shared meal, and every moment of togetherness.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with her daughters, Sharon E. Kruk of Bethlehem and Susan D. Thatcher and her husband Jeffrey of Germantown, MD; her son, Kevin J. Crockett, and his companion Carl Rice of New Ringgold; and her adored grandchildren, Meghan Thatcher, Colin Thatcher, Lauren Callahan and her husband John, and Jason Kruk and his wife Kristen. Elaine’s great-grandchildren, Chase, Madelyn, Raegan, and Rylee will grow up hearing the legendary stories of their great-grandmother's kindness and zest for life. Elaine's passing was preceded by her sister, Doris Hoffman, and her son-in-law, Richard Kruk.

Services: A Funeral Service will be held at 12 Noon on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden Street Bethlehem, PA 18018 where the family will receive relatives and friends from 11 A.M. until time of the service. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Memorial Park. A memory tribute may be placed at www.cantelmifuneralhome.com.
