Dr. Linda S. Lefkowitz

Dr. Linda S. Lefkowitz, 77, of Wyckoff passed away at home on October 7, 2021 while in the professional care of Valley Hospice. Linda was the loving mother of Sasha Linney (married to Stephane Martin) of Brooklyn, NY and Danielle Wood (married to Jason Wood) of Wyckoff, NJ and grandmother of Noah and Liam Wood. She is also survived by her sister Dr. Audrey Lefkowitz and her husband, Dr. Neil Scollan, of Connecticut. Linda was born in New York City on February 23, 1944 to the late Harold and Dora Lefkowitz. In her youth, she was an adventurer and lover of fast cars. Dr. Lefkowitz received her PhD in Spanish language and literature from Princeton University in 1973 and joined the staff of Lehigh University in 1974. At Lehigh, she was a dedicated Professor of Spanish, beloved colleague, and tireless lap swimmer until her retirement in 2013. In 2015, she moved from Hellertown, PA to Wyckoff, NJ to live with her family. Linda was grateful to her PA and NJ friends, the Wyckoff YMCA, the Wyckoff Library for its book group, and the Wyckoff Parkinson’s Support Group held monthly at the Cedar Hill Christian Reform Church. She loved to walk in the Hartung neighborhood, take photos of birds and wildlife from her kitchen window, watch Amanpour and Company, and read The New Yorker magazine from cover to cover on a weekly basis. She always inspired those around her to exceed their expectations. Linda spent her final moments of her life surrounded by her cat Kiki and her family who will greatly miss her.

Services: Services will be held at 11 A.M. on Thursday, October 14th, 2021 at Lehigh University Packer Memorial Chapel,  18 University Dr, Bethlehem, PA 18015. Linda's friends, family, and colleagues are welcome to attend. A memory tribute may be placed at www.cantelmifuneralhome.com.

Without the support of all these dedicated professionals, Linda would not have been able to live or die with the dignity and grace that she did.
