Doris M. (Rohland) Yob

Doris M. (Rohland) Yob, 89, of Freemansburg, passed away peacefully on Tuesday August 18, 2020 in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the devoted wife of Gerald C. Yob, with whom she shared over 69 years of loving marriage. Born in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Harry S. and Mary E. (Repash) Rohland. Doris was a graduate of Liberty High School, class of 1948. She worked as a Secretary for Laros Textile Company for three years, Lehigh & New England Railroad, Traffic Department for five years, The Moravian Archives for nine years and was the Executive Administrative Assistant to the President of the Moravian Church- Northern Province for 29 years. Doris was a member of College Hill Moravian Church, Bethlehem, since 1936, where she served as a Sacristan, former Sunday School teacher, former Superintendent of Kindergarten and Primary Departments and a former Elder. She was also a member of the Board of Almoners, Bethlehem Area Moravians for six years, a 20 year member of the former Sapphire Circle of the Moravian King’s Daughters, member of the Reunion Committee of Liberty High School, class of 1948, editor of the class newsletter, member and secretary of Freedom High School Band Parents as well as a former Den Mother of Cub Scout Pack 25. 

Survivors: In addition to her loving husband Gerald, son David G. Yob of Bath; daughter Barbara A. Wagner and her husband Michael of York; grandchildren Matthew and his wife Ally and Christopher Wagner of York; great granddaughter Lila Wagner; siblings Janet R. Hoffert of Bethlehem, Judith R. Carr of Easton and David S. Rohland of Mohnton, PA;  step mother Arlene (Hahn) Rohland of Bethlehem and many loving cousins, nieces and nephews. 

Services: A Viewing will be held on Sunday, August 23, 2020 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden Street, Bethlehem, PA 18018. A Graveside service will be held at 11 A.M. on Monday, August 24, 2020 at Bethlehem Memorial Park Cemetery. Due to current restrictions, we ask you to follow social distancing protocols and a facial covering must be worn. The number of guests in the funeral home at one time will be limited. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date at College Hill Moravian Church. A memory tribute may be placed at www.cantelmifuneralhome.com.
