“Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you.” - Jeremiah 1:5
Though you were here for only a short time, every day was precious, and it was such a joy to be your parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends, priests, etc. We’ll miss you!
Though it is hard for us, we know your name is written in God’s book, and we commend you to His care.
You’re named Cecilia after St. Cecilia, patron saint of musicians and music. Your dad loves music! Within minutes of your dad finding out about you, he said you were a girl, and your name was to be Cecilia.
Mom believed you were a girl because each time we prayed for you, God moved her to say, “She.” Your middle name is Rose to honor both St. Theresa and Mary. Mom held a miraculous medal touched to the relics of St. Theresa of Lisieux near her womb each day. Mary and St. Theresa sent us a beautiful rose that bloomed outside our house for weeks in the cold of winter as we prayed for you.
Just like the rose, you certainly were a miracle in our lives! You, indeed, were someone special!
We’re so thankful for the joy you brought us. No matter how small, we know your life has eternal value. You changed our lives for the better.
We look forward to being in your presence again one day! For now, you are a song in our hearts.
13 You formed my inmost being;
you knit me in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you, because I am wonderfully made;
wonderful are your works!
My very self you know.
15 My bones are not hidden from you,
When I was being made in secret,
fashioned in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw me unformed;
in your book all are written down;
my days were shaped, before one came to be.
On a lighter note, Cecilia, we hope you are swimming with the sea turtles and playing Twilight Imperium with the saints! If not now, we hope this happens at the Resurrection when God promises there will be a new Earth!
We’ll find out one day what you are up to right now! We love you.
