Bob “Woody” Koehler, Sr., 92, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 22, 2021 in his residence, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Nancy Lee (Fink) Koehler. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Charles and Esther (Fehnel) Koehler. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. Bob started working at Paul B. Wood Tires after school at the age of 13. He went on to work full time, and purchased the business from its founder at the age of 27. Bob had a passion for pleasing his customers, and soon dawned the nickname " Woody." He spent 78 years, right up to his passing, working at the job he enjoyed, and making his customers and employees happy. He was a charter member of East Hills Moravian Church, Bethlehem, where he was a sacristan, served on the board of trustees and was a member of the church dart league. He was an avid Phillies fan and enjoyed bowling, golfing, fishing and dancing the Jitterbug. Bob was also a member of the Goodfellows Club and the Tall Cedars of Lebanon.
Survivors: He will be lovingly remembered by his sons, Robert A. Koehler Jr. and wife Lori of Northampton, James A. Koehler Sr. and wife Anna of Bethlehem, Scott A. “Whitey” Koehler and wife Brenda of Collegeville; daughter, Susan E. Stellato and husband Lou of Nazareth; siblings Donald Koehler and wife Ann of Gary, Indiana, Virginia Salvatore, Richard Koehler, Rheta Judd, Phyllis Koehler and Barbara Williams all of Bethlehem; 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Woody was preceded in death by his brothers Harold and William Koehler.
Services: Funeral services at the funeral home will be private. A live streamed funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM on Tuesday April 27, 2021 and may be viewed on Bob's obituary page on the funeral home website.
