Barbara A. Jones

Barbara Ann Durinda Jones departed this life peacefully on Friday, November 3, 2023. She was the beloved wife of William (Bill) Jones for 58 years and the mother of Jennifer (Jen).

The daughter of Andrew and Margaret Durinda, Barbara grew up in Woodbridge, NJ with her siblings Betty, Ronald, Donna, April, and Steven.

In 1974, she moved to Bethlehem with her husband and daughter. Barbara, an avid reader, worked at the Southside Branch of the Bethlehem Public Library for 31 years.

After her retirement, she spent her time volunteering in the gift shop at Muhlenberg Hospital for 13 years. She even delivered flowers to Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson though she had no idea who he was!

In addition to reading, Barbara also enjoyed participating in arthritis swim classes at the Bethlehem YMCA, going for walks, loving on her grand-dogs, and traveling with Bill.

Barbara’s family would like to thank Abington Manor Memory Care Village (Easton) and Ascend Hospice for the care and compassion they showed for her and her family and friends in her final months.

Services will be private at the request of the family. Arrangements are being handled by Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, Bethlehem.
