William 'Billy' Rinker, Jr. Obituary William E. Rinker, Jr., known affectionately as Billy to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2024 at the age of 84 in his hometown of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Born on October 23, 1940 to the late William E., Sr. and Cecila (Feichtl) Rinker, Billy's life was marked by a deep commitment to his family, his country, and his community, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished by all who knew him. Billy was a proud graduate of Liberty High School, where he formed friendships that would last a lifetime. While there, he was a standout multi-sport athlete and, most notably, a superior wrestler. His love for learning led him to Moravian College, where he earned a Bachelor of Art degree and continued his dominance on the wrestling mat as a greyhound. As a young man, Billy honorably served his country in the United States Army, a time during which he demonstrated the values of duty and brotherhood while deployed in Viet Nam. After serving in the Army, Billy returned to Bethlehem and began a fulfilling career at AD Computer and Payroll Services, from which he would eventually retire. His colleagues remember him as a dedicated and knowledgeable professional who was always willing to lend a helping hand. His work was not just a job, it was a testament to his reliability and commitment to excellence with an emphasis on customer satisfaction. Family was the cornerstone of Billy's life. He is survived by his two proud sons, William C. Rinker of Bryn Mawr, PA and Jeffrey Rinker, and wife Kimberley, of Bethlehem, PA. Billy's role as a father was characterized by unwavering support, love and guidance. His sons will forever hold onto the strong work ethic, valuable life skills, and lessons he taught them, along with the memories they shared. He was a passionate bass fisherman, imparting an angling enthusiasm and contagiousness on his friends and family at Elk Lake. In addition to his sons, Billy's memory will be cherished by his beloved siblings, Roberta Lewis of South Carolina and Jaqueline Jones and her husband David of Ambler, PA. His role as a brother was filled with moments of joy, shared stories, and an unbreakable bond that only siblings can share. Billy's joy multiplied with the arrival of his grandchildren, Chase and Charlie. He embraced his role as a grandfather with open arms, imparting wisdom, humor, and a sense of adventure. His grandchildren will remember their grandfather as a beacon of light and a source of endless encouragement. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Billys services have been entrusted to the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, Bethlehem. A memory tribute may be placed at www.cantelmifuneralhome.com.
