Wanda DeLong Obituary Wanda J. DeLong (Eglin), 90, of Lower Macungie Twp., and formerly of Williams Twp.and Emmaus, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 27, 2024. She was the loving wife of the late Leo H. DeLong, Jr., who passed away in March 2017. Wanda met Leo, the love of her life, while working as a secretary for A.P. Houser in Emmaus. Mr. Houser arranged for Leo to come into the office one day and they met: their first date was two weeks later on Valentines Day and they were married the following November. They were married for 47 years, until Leos passing. Born in Louisville, KY, Wanda was the daughter of the late Morris J.E. and Helen I. Reichard. She, along with her late husband, ran Bucks Development & Contracting Corp, commercial contractors in the Lehigh Valley. She was a member of Cedar Church. Wanda loved her stable of pets, which included rescuing many stray animals that appeared on her doorstep. Survivors: Wanda is survived by her children, Sharon Scheirer and husband Martin Borakove of Williams Twp., Brenda DeLong of Lower Macungie Twp., Scott DeLong and his husband Daniel Medina of Schnecksville. She was predeceased by two stepsons. "Nana" was the doting grandmother to her grandkids: Alexandra Nicole Borakove, of Baltimore, MD and Benjamin Nicholas Borakove, of Lorton, VA. The sun rose and set with her grandkids: they were the apple of her eye. She is also survived by sister-in- laws Kathy Yandle Miller, Doris Rinker, and Claudette Crossley and brother-in-law David DeLong and their respective families. Her beloved pup, Jazzy, will miss her very much.
