Siegfried H. Krause, age 85, of Bethlehem Township, Pennsylvania, passed away on April 27, 2026. He was the husband of Hildegard (Didor) Krause for 59 years. Born on July 26, 1940, in Pohlo, Germany, he was the son of the late Kurt and Erna (von Eckenhoff) Krause.

Siegfried immigrated to the United States in July 1960 at the age of 20 aboard the MS Berlin. Determined and hardworking, he worked as a machinist to support himself and work his way through college. While working full-time at night, he attended William Paterson University in New Jersey, where he graduated in just three and a half years with a bachelor's degree in mathematics. In college, he served as co-captain of the university's soccer team, and was even awarded the prestigious honor of being an all American collegiate athlete. He went on to earn a master's degree from Montclair State College.

He began his career as a high school mathematics teacher at Passaic Valley High School in New Jersey. He went on to work for Chubb Insurance Company, where he worked for 27 years in the property and casualty department and attained the position of assistant vice president. During his time with Chubb, he lived in New Jersey, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Bethlehem, and Düsseldorf, Germany.

Siegfried was a longtime member of the German American Club of the Lehigh Valley, where he served as recording secretary. He enjoyed playing the accordion, singing in the Lehigh Saengerbund choir, and dancing at Coplay Saengerbund. A passionate soccer enthusiast, he coached his sons' teams and loved watching the sport. Some of his biggest joys in life were raising his sons, spending time with his granddaughters, and taking many trips to Germany.

In addition to his wife Hildegard, Siegfried is survived by his sons, Roger Krause and his wife Karen, and Robert Krause and his wife Jill; and his granddaughters, Sydney and Kara. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Manfred Krause and Conrad Krause, and his half-brother, Seppo.
