Robert 'Bob' Goral Obituary Robert 'Bob' Goral, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home on April 29, 2024, at the age of 85. Born on August 3, 1938, in Hazelton, he was the son of the late Andrew and Anna (Kostick) Goral. Bob's life was a testament to his unwavering dedication to his family, his passion for his work, and his love for life's simple pleasures. Bob graduated from Hazleton High School in 1956, where he laid the foundation for his future successes. He furthered his education at Penn State University, earning a degree in Chemical Engineering in 1960. His love for Penn State was deeply ingrained, not only as an alumnus but also as a dedicated fan who held season tickets. He was proud to be the first of three generations to attend Penn State, a legacy that brought him immense pride. His career was as distinguished as it was fulfilling, having worked at Bethlehem Steel, Lehigh Valley Heavy Forge, and most recently for Miller Keystone Blood Center. Bob was blessed with a beautiful family, including his beloved wife of over 63 years, Ruth (Bodnar) Goral. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. He was a loving father to his son, Robert Goral and his wife Cherie, and daughters Diane Pappas and Lori Moge and her husband Merwan. He took great pride in his role as a grandfather to Michael (Eleni) Pappas, Nicholas Pappas, Alia Goral, Chelsea Wyant (Craig Bujcs), Rachel Pappas, Kyleigh Goral (Eric Janidl), and Evan Moge, and was overjoyed to be a great-grandfather to Kalli Pappas. Bob also leaves behind his sister, Carolyn Borwegian, and his adored canine companion, Jasmine. Bob's interests were as varied as they were enthusiastic. He loved golfing and was fortunate enough to attend the Masters. His love for golf was evident in the meticulous care he took of his lawn, which he kept as pristine as the greens of Augusta National. Bob's adventurous spirit led him to travel, enjoying trips to Disney, Las Vegas, and numerous cruises with his family. These journeys provided stories and experiences that he treasured and often shared with a wide smile. A man of faith, Bob was a faithful and active member of Ss. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church. His commitment to his faith was a guiding force in his life, providing comfort and community. He lived his beliefs through his actions, offering kindness and support to those around him. Bob's legacy is one of love, commitment, and joy. He approached life with a positive spirit and a kind heart, touching the lives of all who knew him. His presence was a gift, and though he will be deeply missed, the memories he created will continue to bring smiles and warmth to the hearts of his family and friends.
