Ralph Pembleton Obituary Ralph W. Pembleton, 93, formerly of Fountain Hill, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2025, in Bethlehem.. Born at Mercy Hospital in Wilkes Barre, PA, he was the son of the late Ralph C. and Marion C. (Zweibel) Pembleton. He was the loving husband of the late Rosemary (Shappert) Pembleton for 71 years, until her passing on June 27, 2022.
Ralph's early years in Wilkes Barre, were spent under the loving guidance of his parents, where he grew into a man of strong values and commitment, a trait that would become the hallmark of his life. He honorably served his country in the US Air Force during the Korean War.
In 1956, Ralph made the pivotal move to Fountain Hill, where he embarked on a successful career in sales with the former Bethlehem Steel, where he dedicated 32 years before his well-deserved retirement. He moved next to the old firehouse on Clewell Street, a warm and welcoming home for his growing family. It was here that he and his beloved wife created a life filled with joy and community spirit. Together, they were regulars on Saturday nights at the local favorites, the Fountain Hill Benny's and the Fountain Hill American Legion, where laughter and camaraderie were always on the menu.
Ralph was a true 'Hiller' as Fountain Hill was the place he had called home for so many years. His involvement in local activities and his unwavering support for his neighbors exemplified his belief in the power of community. He was an active participant in the Boy Scouts and all scouting activities, instilling values of leadership and service in young minds. His faith was a cornerstone of his life. He was a long-standing parishioner of St. Ursula Church in Fountain Hill, and later at Notre Dame of Bethlehem Catholic Church.
The summer vacations at Harvey's Lake were among Ralph's most treasured times, as they offered precious moments for relaxation and reconnection with his loved ones. The gentle waves and laughter of his family by the lakeside will forever echo as sweet memories of summers well spent.
He is survived and dearly missed by his loving daughters, Linda Diehl (Kevin) of Fountain Hill and Terry Johnson (Richard) of Slatington; and his devoted son, Glen Pembleton (Elizabeth) of Stroudsburg. He was predeceased by his sons, Ralph(Cindy) and Donald, who were always held close in his heart.
