Pasquale Schiavone Obituary Pasquale J. 'Pat' Schiavone, of Bethlehem Township, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2024, at the age of 92. Born on November 6, 1932, in Bethlehem to the late Antonio and Rochina (Caruso) Schiavone, Pat lived a life marked by dedication, hard work, and an unwavering commitment to his loved ones.
Pat honorably served his country as a Navy veteran of the Korean War, displaying the same sense of duty and resilience in his military career that would later define his civilian life. After his service, he returned to Bethlehem, where he met and married the love of his life, Cynthia Ann (Bartholomew) Schiavone. Together, they built a family and a life full of joy and cherished memories.
With a work ethic second to none, Pat was a familiar face at Giant, with a career as a meat cutter spanning 56 years. His colleagues and customers alike knew him as a man of integrity and kindness, always ready with a helping hand or a friendly word.
In his personal life, Pat was a consummate handyman, blessed with an ability to fix anything that came his way. His skills were matched only by his eagerness to use them in service of others, often assisting friends, family, and neighbors with various projects and repairs. Pat's hands were a testament to his hard-working nature, and his handiwork remains a legacy in the homes and hearts of those he touched.
A parishioner of St. Anne Catholic Church, Pat's faith was a guiding light throughout his life. Pat's faith, much like his love for his family, was a source of strength and comfort to him.
Family was the centerpiece of Pat's world. He is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Cynthia Ann Schiavone; his devoted son, Michael Schiavone of Bethlehem Township; his loving sister, Concetta T. Berry of Bethlehem; and his adored grandchildren, Brent, Derek, and Gabrielle and great-grandchildren Kaylee, Isla and Austin. Pat also leaves behind in-laws Robert annd Patricia Bartholomew, nephews Sam Ninfo, Todd Bartholomew and niece Jodi Gumbrecht who will miss his guidance and gentle presence. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Anne Schiavone, Lena Bender and Mary Ninfo.
Pat's love for his family was immeasurable, especially for his grandchildren, who brought him immense joy and pride. He was a constant figure at their sporting events, school activities, and family gatherings, always offering encouragement and a proud smile. His legacy of love, hard work, and faithfulness will live on through them and the many lives he touched.
