Obituary

Nancy Marie Kosman, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on November 13, 2025, at St. Luke's Hospital, Anderson Campus in Easton, PA. Daughter of the late Henry L. Rhodes and Esta (Ferree) Rhoads, Nancy was born on October 4, 1935, in York, PA. Nancy's vibrant spirit and compassionate soul touched the lives of all who knew her throughout her remarkable 90 years.

A graduate of North York High School in PA and Nyack College in New York, Nancy valued her education and worked as an office manager for many years. Nancy was also a woman of strong faith and dedication, qualities that were evident in her everyday life. She and her late husband, Rodney Paul Kosman, spent many years as members at First Presbyterian Church, where they served as Deacons, working side by side to support their church community. Her heart lit up whenever anyone, especially her grandchildren, shared that they were seeking moments of faith or connection with God.

Nancy's love for her family was the cornerstone of her life. Her absence will be felt deeply by those who survive her, including her children, Stephen A. Sullivan of Allentown, Janice E. (Sullivan) Ford of Bethlehem, David B. Sullivan of Bath, Karen M. Sullivan of Glenside; stepsons, Russell P. Kosman, Rodney W. Kosman and wife Cindy, Michael Kosman and wife Stacey; her grandchildren, Korynne Sullivan, David Sullivan Jr. and wife Brianna, Aja Olivares and husband Kevin Bonser, Jared Williams; and her great-grandchildren, Ahnalee, Jonah, Amani, Zion, Torah, Aubrey, Nora, Jade, Livia, and Caleb. She was also blessed to know her great-great-granddaughter, Remi. Nancy's home, lovingly known as "Grandma's House," was always a warm and inviting place for family gatherings, where countless treasured memories were made.

Nancy was predeceased by her late husband of 36 years, Rodney P. Kosman, siblings Hilda Jane Young, Treva Axe, and Gerald Kornbau, grandson Kristopher Sullivan and stepson, Paul G. Kosman. The family finds comfort knowing Nancy is reunited with these loved ones in heaven.

Beyond her family and faith, Nancy took pleasure in the simple joys of life. She loved living near downtown Bethlehem and was a former member of the sister city, Bethlehem Schwäbisch Gmünd Association. She spent years volunteering at Musikfest, hosting exchange students from Germany, and participating in various community events. Nancy was notably a founder, along with her two sisters, of The Descendants of Marie Ferree, an organization to host family reunions and promote awareness of the Ferree history and genealogy.

Nancy lived a life that exemplified love, faith, and family. Her legacy will continue to inspire and guide those who were fortunate enough to know her. She has left an indelible mark on this world, and her memory will be cherished forever by her family, friends, and all who were touched by her loving heart and unwavering spirit.
