Obituary

Nancy E. Kohler, 88, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on November 11, 1937, in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Evelyn (Hummel) DeWalt.

Nancy was a graduate of Liberty High School. She began her working career at Bethlehem Steel, where she was among the first female laborers. Following her years at Bethlehem Steel, she owned and operated Caregivers Home Health for many years, providing compassionate care and assistance to those in need.

Nancy was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished her family above all else. She is survived by her sons, Dwayne Mink and his wife, Deborah, and Henry Kohler; her daughter, Dawn Mink; her sister, Shirley Ricci; four grandchildren, Angie, Alana, John, and Jamie; and great-grandchildren, Leah, Jaxon, Janaiya, Tiana, Daryl, Damon, Caylee, Carah and Jaxson.

In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved daughters, Darlene Lee and Deborah Babio; and her siblings, June Beckage, Dale DeWalt, and Donald DeWalt.

Nancy enjoyed baking, and her pineapple upside-down cake and rice pudding were favorites among family and friends. She also enjoyed listening to Elvis, playing bingo, arts and crafts, and writing poetry. She took pleasure in these simple pastimes and in sharing them with those she loved.

Nancy was a faithful member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Allentown. Her faith was an important part of her life and guided her in the love and kindness she extended to others.

Nancy will be remembered for her strong work ethic, generous heart, devotion to her family, and steadfast faith. She leaves behind many cherished memories and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
