Michael James
Bucko
Dec 9, 1955 — Jan 6, 2026
Michael James Bucko passed away peacefully at home on January 6th, 2026 at the age of 70.
Born on December 9th, 1955, in Bethlehem, PA, Michael was the son of the late Andrew John Bucko and Mary Grillo.
Mike was a dedicated, hardworking man whose kindness and generosity left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
He proudly worked at SSI in the 1970s as a welder before being promoted to the Research and Development team, where he helped build some of the country's first robotics. He later retired from PennDOT after many years of service as an Equipment Operator.
Affectionately known as "Big Mike," he lived life with a big heart to match his nickname.
A true fan, Big Mike loved baseball and football, enjoyed playing longboard with his friends at his social club, cherished trips to the beach, and treasured his visits to Colorado. He was a big animal lover, but most of all, he adored his St. Bernards.
Big Mike will be remembered for his strong work ethic, wisdom, kindness, and generosity. Above all, he will be remembered for the treasured memories he left behind.
RIP Big Mike
