Marianne Napravnik Obituary Marianne H. (Harpel) Napravnik, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on January 11, 2025, at the age of 94. Born November 13, 1930, in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Allen and Anna (Bartholomew) Harpel. Marianne was known for her warmth and friendliness, endearing her to everyone she met. Her love of singing brought her joy throughout her life, including a special performance at Madison Square Garden. For over 35 years, Marianne was the Philosophy Department Coordinator at Lehigh University, where she supported faculty and students with care and dedication. She sang with the Choral Union for 27 years and volunteered for more than 20 years at the Zoellner Arts Center. Her community spirit shone in efforts like leading the Southside Bethlehem cleanup and mentoring as a Girl Scout leader. Marianne was a longtime member of the former St. Peters Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bethlehem and later became a devoted member of Blessed Trinity Lutheran Church. She is survived by her son, Anselm Napravnik; daughter, Kirsten McCray; grandchildren, Jasper, Annisa, and Gabriel; and sisters Diana Lazar (Jay), Joyce Hoffman, and Alana Benner (Terry). She was predeceased by her sisters Patricia Miller and Dorothy White. Services: A Memorial Service will be held at 11 A.M. on Monday, January 20, 2025, at Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden Street, Bethlehem, PA, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 10 A.M. until time of the service.
