Obituary

Marian Rodgers Obituary Marian Rodgers, of Fountain Hill, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2024, at the age of 81 in Allentown. Born on April 6, 1943, in Coaldale, PA, Marian was the daughter of the late Stephen and Julia (Zweisdak) Durich. Her life was a testament to the love and dedication she had for her family, music, and community. Marian's formative years in Coaldale laid the foundation for a life full of love and music. After marrying her beloved husband, the late Kenneth E. Rodgers, who passed away in 1989, they embarked on a harmonious journey, co-owning Ken's Music Store and sharing their passion for music with the community. Together, they created melodies and memories, with Marian skillfully playing the steel guitar alongside Ken in their band. While her heartstrings were plucked with music, Marian's devotion to her family was the true melody of her life. She was a loving mother to her daughter Brenda Wise (Kevin) of Wernersville, her son Justin K. Rodgers of Whitehall, and her daughter Debra Rodgers of Myrtle Beach, SC. She poured her love and wisdom into their lives, guiding them with a gentle hand and a warm heart. She is also survived by her brother, Dr. Richard Durich (Sharon) formerly of Allentown, and will fondly be remembered by her grandchildren, Brittany Pilla (TJ), Krista Martucci (Gillian Reilly), Justin K. Rodgers, Jr., Nicholas Martucci (Carrie), and Cory Martucci (Allyn). Her great-grandchildren Julianna, Trey, Emma, and Stella will carry the legacy of her kindness into the future. Her life was further enriched by the companionship of her dear friend Francis Staffieri of Salisbury Township, with whom she shared many joyful moments and a deep bond of friendship. Marian's career as an operator at St. Luke's Hospital showcased her caring nature and her ability to connect with people in their times of need. Her work ethic and compassionate demeanor left a lasting impression on all who knew her. Her spiritual life was nourished by her faith and fellowship. Once a member of Saint Mary's Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Allentown, Marian found solace and community in her later years at St. Ursula Catholic Church in Fountain Hill. Her faith was an anchor throughout her life, providing her with strength and comfort. An enthusiast of the majestic beauty of Siberian Huskies, Marian found joy in raising these noble creatures at her home. Her love for these animals was yet another reflection of her kind spirit and nurturing heart. Services: Private and at the convenience of the family.
