Balogh
Oct 5, 1935 — Aug 19, 2026
Maria (Sudi) Balogh, 90, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2026, surrounded by her family in Mansfield, Massachusetts.
Born on October 5, 1935, in Velence, Hungary, she was the daughter of the late András and Maria Sudi. She immigrated to the US in 1956 during the Hungarian Revolution with her husband, Joseph. Maria was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose life was marked by faith, devotion, and quiet strength. She carried herself with grace and kindness and will be remembered for her warm presence, steady spirit, and genuine care for those around her.
Maria was a founding and active member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Bethlehem, where her faith remained an important part of her life. She generously gave her time and energy to her church community and found great purpose in its fellowship and growth.
Maria worked for most of her career as an Inspector with Western Electric, AT&T, and Lucent Technologies before retiring. She took great pride in her work and in the many years she dedicated to her career.
Family was at the center of Maria's life. She is survived by her daughter, Maria Liddick, and her husband, James. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Stephanie Liddick; Lauren Goodman and her husband, Matthew; and Daniel Liddick and his wife, Sarah. She also cherished her great-grandchildren, Riley and Hunter Goodman, and Ewan Liddick, each of whom brought her great joy. She is also predeceased by her siblings, András and Iren.
Maria treasured every moment spent with her family, loved cooking for them, baking her Kifles, crocheting afghans, watching Notre Dame football games, and providing love and support to her family and friends always. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
