Margaret June
Rowland
Mar 25, 1953 — Mar 23, 2025
Margaret June Rowland passed away peacefully on March 23, 2025, just two days shy of her 72nd birthday. She was born in Phillipsburg, NJ and grew up in Hackettstown, NJ with her brothers and loving parents, Floyd T. Proctor and Ada (Allen) Proctor, both of whom predeceased her. Her life was a testament to the joy and warmth she brought into the lives of those around her.
Margaret was the devoted wife of her husband, John W. Rowland. Her spirit lives on through her children: Megan Rogers of Coopersburg, PA; Michael (Wynneal) Rowland of the Philippines; and Andrew (Lauren Lee) Rowland of Easton, PA. She was a cherished sister to Wesley (Fawn) Proctor of Shippensburg, PA, and Howard (Sherryl) Proctor.
She took immense joy from her grandchildren: Addison Rogers, Amelia Rogers, Freddie Rowland, Anna Rowland, and Colin Rowland. There was no shortage of crafts, songs and story books she was eager to share with them.
Margaret learned the values of hard work, community service and volunteerism from her parents and through the Girl Scouts. After graduating from Wesley College in Delaware with an Associate's Degree in Secretarial Sciences, Margaret's passion for nurturing young minds led her to a fulfilling career as a preschool teacher for almost 3 decades. For the bulk of her career, she was a beloved figure at Greenwich Nursery School in Stewartsville, NJ.
Margaret was an involved member of the Central Moravian Church in Bethlehem, drawn to its rich history and sense of community. Additionally, her love for family and local history was reflected in her active participation in various historical societies, and a passion for genealogy which she eagerly shared with others.
