Obituary

Margaret "Maggie" Susa, 88, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2025, at Sacred Heart Senior Living, Wedgewood Building.

Maggie was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, John Susa. Together, they made their home in Fountain Hill. She was the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Kovalik) Heylek and a graduate of Coughlin High School in Wilkes-Barre.

A dedicated member of her community, Maggie served as Vice President of the Fountain Hill Little League Ladies Auxiliary and was a Den Mother for the local Cub Scout pack. She was a member of the adult choir and a solo cantor at St. Ursula's Church, as well as a member of the Mack Truck choir.

Maggie began her career as a Kelly Girl in the early 1970s, working at Lehigh Valley Dairy and Sur Fit. She later joined Mack Trucks, where she worked as a key punch operator for 35 years, finishing her career as a parts expeditor. In her free time, she was an avid reader and a devoted Phillies fan.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Michael of Fountain Hill; Paula Guidon (Jonathan) of Northampton; and MaryBeth Wilson (Robert) of Raleigh, North Carolina. She was a proud grandmother to Elizabeth Trested (Bryan), Christopher Guidon (Ellen), Sarah Wilson, and Jack Wilson, and a great-grandmother to Caleb Guidon. Maggie is also survived by her sister, Marie Degnan, and her brother, John Heylek, both of Wilkes-Barre, as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers at Sacred Heart Senior Living in Saucon Valley, Wedgewood Building, for their love and support, and to Family Pillars Hospice for their compassionate care in her final weeks.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11 A.M. on Friday, February 7, 2025, at St. Ursula Catholic Church, 1300 Broadway Fountain Hill, PA 18015 where the family will receive relatives and friends from 10 A.M. until time of the Mass in the church.
