Obituary

Margaret Lynn Obituary Margaret (Shannon) Lynn, lovingly known by her friends and family for her warm sense of humor and kind heart, passed away peacefully in Greece on Saturday, April 20, 2024, that marked the end of an era filled with love and laughter. Born on October 8, 1936, in Bethlehem to the late George and Grace (Binder) Shannon, Margaret's life journey was one of dedication, love, and joy. Margaret's early years in Bethlehem laid the foundation for a life lived with loving determination. She married the love of her life, the late Donald J. Lynn, and together they built a family rooted in compassion and care. Although she faced the profound loss of her son, Joseph Lynn, her strength never wavered, and she continued to be a pillar for her family. She is survived by her son Jeffrey (Alex) Lynn, Sr., her caring daughter-in-law Patricia Lynn, and her cherished grandchildren Jeffrey Lynn Jr., Nicholas Lynn, Alyssa Lynn, and Skylar Lynn. Her legacy further blossomed with the arrival of her three great-grandchildren, Josiah, Bianca, and Marina, who brought immense joy to her later years. Margaret's professional life was spent at Fountain Hill Mills, where she worked as a garment presser. She was a woman of tenacity and grit, qualities that saw her serve as Union Steward with the International Ladies' Garment Workers' Union (ILGWU). Her colleagues knew her as someone who was not only funny but also genuinely concerned for the welfare of others, always ready to offer a helping hand or a supportive word. Her faith was a cornerstone of her existence, and she was an active member of Saint Pauls Lutheran Church in Fountain Hill, Pennsylvania. Her church family knew her as a loving and kind soul who was always involved in church activities, contributing positively to the spiritual community that she held so dear. Margaret's interests and hobbies were a reflection of her vibrant personality. She had a passion for playing Bingo at the American Legion in Fountain Hill, PA, where her laughter was contagious and her presence a source of joy for many. Her nimble fingers were often busy with crochet, creating beautiful pieces for her loved ones, and her ceramics, especially Christmas figurines, were treasured by all who received them. In 2021, Margaret made the heartfelt decision to move to Greece, guided by her unwavering desire to be close to her son in her later years. Amidst the enchanting landscapes and vibrant culture of her new home, she found not only the comfort of family but also a community where she lived her days surrounded by safety, affection, and the enduring love of those she held dear.
