Obituary

Laurine Ann Dietrich, 84, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born on May 9, 1942, in Easton, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Webb and Martha (Gruber) Dietrich. Laurine was a proud graduate of Liberty High School, Class of 1960.

Laurine worked for many years at Western Electric and later AT&T Microelectronics, Lucent Technologies, and Agere Systems. She served as a Clean Room Supervisor in the wafer etching production process before her retirement.

Giving back to her community was an important part of Laurine's life. For more than 30 years, she volunteered at Muhlenberg Medical Center, where she served at the front desk, assisted in the NICU, and participated in the No One Dies Alone (NODA) program. She generously gave her time to help others and made a difference in the lives of many people.

Laurine had a love of travel and adventure and was fortunate to experience many incredible places throughout her life. She especially treasured the trips she shared with her grandson, Evan. Together, they walked the Great Wall of China, explored the beaches of the Galápagos Islands, sailed along the Nile River, hiked near the Grand Canyon, and traveled to Alaska, where they spotted whales. They also visited London, Africa, and many other destinations, creating countless memories that she cherished throughout her life.

Laurine was also an animal lover and opened her home to many cats throughout the years. She enjoyed their companionship and cared deeply for animals.

Family was especially important to Laurine. She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Scott Dietrich and his wife, Malwina; her beloved grandson, Evan Dietrich; her sisters, Linda Smith and Susan Schenk; and her sister-in-law, Stephanie (Lewis) Dietrich. She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Dietrich.

Laurine will be remembered for her quiet strength, caring nature, adventurous spirit, love of travel, and devotion to her family. She leaves behind a lifetime of memories that will be treasured by all who knew and loved her.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11 A.M. on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden Street, Bethlehem, PA 18018, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 10 A.M. until the time of the service.
