Obituary

Kathryn A. (Treichler) Desh, a beloved matriarch and guiding light to her family, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2025, at the age of 85, surrounded by those she loved most. Born on February 25, 1940, in Allentown, she was the cherished daughter of the late Charles and Verna (Kuhns) Treichler. She graduated from William Allen High School with the class of 1958.

Kathryn's life was a beautiful reflection of her deep devotion to her family and the joy she found in life's simple pleasures. Her warm heart and steady presence shaped the lives of those around her in countless meaningful ways.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, George G. Desh, Jr.; her dear daughter, Fay Desh; and her siblings, Dorothy Longenbach, Mark Treichler, and Louise Wunderly. She leaves behind a legacy of love in her children: sons Edward (Patricia), Jay (Suzanne), John, and William (Dana); and daughter Deborah Smith (Frank). Kathryn was a proud and loving grandmother to nine grandchildren and one great-granddaughter, each of whom brought her endless joy and pride.

Kathryn's greatest role was that of a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She nurtured her family with quiet strength, grace, and unconditional love—creating a home filled with warmth, laughter, and lasting memories. Her wisdom and support were a steady presence in the lives of all who knew her.

In addition to her deep love for family, Kathryn enjoyed crafting and gardening. She also took pride in her time as an Avon representative, forming connections and friendships that brought her great joy.

Services are private and at the convenience of the family. Kathryn's arrangements have been entrusted to the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, Bethlehem. A memory tribute may be placed at www.cantelmifuneralhome.com.
