Julian Almonte, 85, of Bethlehem, PA died peacefully in his home on May 6, 2026. He was the husband of Isabel (Melendez) Almonte who died September 11, 2012. Born in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, he was the son of the late Ysidra Almonte. After graduation from high school in the Dominican Republic, Julian served in the military and as a police officer. After coming to the United States and settling in Bethlehem, he worked at a fabricating company in Perkasie and as a custodian at Lehigh University before retiring. He was a member of Holy Infancy Catholic Church, Bethlehem.

Survivors: Daughter, Rossmery Almonte Tejada and her husband Jose Ramirez of the Bronx, NY; step-children, Rebecca Rodriguez of Fountain Hill, PA, Mercedes Melendez Snyder and her husband Thomas Snyder of Bethlehem, Peter Negron of Fountain Hill, Robert Negron of Lower Saucon Township, PA; granddaughter, Kamila Gomez Almonte; many step grandchildren; many step great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his grandson, Ernesto Simo.
