Obituary

Judith Elaine Landis, known affectionately to family and friends as Judy, passed away on May 4, 2026, at her residence in Nazareth. She was born on March 29, 1944, in Easton, Pennsylvania, and lived a life marked by devotion to her family, steady kindness, and a strong work ethic. Judy was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who will be remembered with love and gratitude by all who knew her.

Judy attended Liberty High School and later devoted more than 35 years of service to Allentown State Hospital, where she worked as a Psychiatric Aide. She retired from that position after a long and dedicated career marked by compassion, responsibility, and care for others. Her years of service reflected the quiet strength and dependability that defined her life. She was respected by coworkers and appreciated for the kindness and patience she brought to her work each day.

In her personal life, Judy was a member of the former Trinity UCC Church in Bethlehem, where she found fellowship and community. She enjoyed simple pleasures and time spent in good company. She liked visiting the casino, playing Yahtzee, trying her luck with scratch-off tickets, and spending time at the Bingo Hall in Foxwood, Connecticut. In her younger years, she especially enjoyed bowling, an activity that brought her both fun and friendly competition. These interests were part of the joyful and spirited side of Judy that her loved ones will always remember.

SURVIVORS: Judy is survived by her children, Ronald E. Landis, Jr. and his wife Christine of Northampton, Denise Grube and her husband Christopher of Bath, Richard Landis and his wife Kimberly of Allentown, and Diane Keiser of Wind Gap. Judy also leaves behind her siblings Jenny Mae Roth, Helen Strawn, and George "Butch" Mitchell. Judy was a cherished grandmother to Philip Spinella, Stephanie Hinkley, Krystal Spinella, Stacey Wilson and her husband Matt, Michael Unangst, Tracey Bengier, Kristine Unangst, Thomas Landis, Jeffrey Landis, Elizabeth Ricks and Zachary Grube. She was also blessed with 12 great-grandchildren, who brought her additional joy and who will carry forward her memory through the generations: Daniel, Josiah, Mya, Olivia, Nate, Jaxson, Gianni, Nova, Michael Jr., Levi, Sianna, and Joshua. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Her love for her family was steadfast, and her presence at family gatherings was a source of comfort, laughter, and strength. Judy was predeceased by her parents George Mitchell and Mary (Ruth) Mitchell, and her husband of 43 years, Ronald E. Landis, Sr., who passed away on May 23, 2006. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings Shirley Long, Henrietta Glassmeyer, Rose Serfass, Charles Mitchell, and Gloria Fairfield.
